Brief information about our speakers:

Iryna Kuchma

Manager of the Open Access Program at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (EIFL-OA) since 2008. Working in collaboration with libraries and library consortia in over 50 countries across Africa, Asia, and Europe, she advocates for open access to research outputs, supports the development and implementation of open science policies and infrastructures, and provides training and support. Ms. Kuchma serves on the Board of the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR), the Global Coalition for Open Science Services (SCOSS), and the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD). She is also a member of the Advisory Board for Open Access Week. Additionally, Ms. Kuchma is co-chair of the Permanent Committee for Training and Support at OpenAIRE, a member of the DSpace Community Advisory Group, and part of the Policy and Legal Working Group at CODATA. She has worked as an international expert on the UNESCO Open Science Advisory Committee, as a speaker for the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Working Group on Skills and Training, and on the EOSC Association’s Target Group for Curriculum and Career Path Development. Ms. Kuchma contributed to the development of Ukraine’s National Open Science Plan and the Ministry of Education and Science’s Guidelines for Research Data Management.

Gareth Dyke, PhD

 Director of Bentham Science, renowned researcher, and author of over 320 peer-reviewed articles (including in journals such as Scientific American, Nature, Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and others) and books. For over 18 years, he served as the editor-in-chief of Taylor & Francis’ Historical Biology, one of the leading journals in the field of paleontology.

Dr. Dyke holds a PhD in Geology and Biology from the University of Bristol. He has worked as a researcher at the Natural History Museum in New York and has taught at University College Dublin (Ireland), the University of Southampton (UK), as well as at universities in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Kazakhstan, and China. He has conducted thousands of online and in-person training sessions and holds accreditation from the Higher Education Authorities in the UK and Ireland.

Iryna Tykhonkova, PhD in Biology, Senior Researcher, Specialist in Information and Analytical Resources and Training at Clarivate.

She has worked at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, including as the head of the editorial office of the Biopolymers and Cell journal, which was one of the first in the country to transition to open access. Since 2016, she has been a specialist at Clarivate, working with clients from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. She conducts training seminars and webinars on publication activity, scientometrics, open access, academic ethics, and the use of databases for searching and correctly analyzing scientific information.

Olga Olshievska, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at Odesa National Polytechnic University, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor. She works on improving data presentation and processing, and the digitalization of work and research processes in accordance with the standards of Web 2.0, Library 3.0, and Science 2.0. Under her leadership, more than 15 software products have been developed, including those for administering scientific activities.

Tetiana Yaroshenko, PhD in History, Associate Professor, Deputy Director for Research and International Cooperation, State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine. Her research interests include scientific communication, open science, open access, open data, research data management, and the management of electronic resources. She is the author of more than 100 articles and 2 monographs on these topics.
